Interpretation

I am a certified member of society of translators and interpreters of BC. I have graduated from Vancouver School of Interpretation and Translation (VANSIT). I offer interpretation services from
English < > Farsi in community, medical and legal settings including:

  • Police
  • Lawyer’s sessions
  • Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada(I.R.B)
  • Doctor’s Visits
  • I.C.B.C
  • Schools
  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada(C.I.C)

I facilitate communication between community service providers such as welfare offices, schools, immigrant settlement organizations – and people for whom English is not their primary language or who do not speak English comfortably enough. The interpretation can be delivered in different modes:

In Person Interpretation

Ideal for one-on-one and small group meetings, I as your interpreter attend the appointment in person, and convey the message after each utterance in short sentences. Sight translation – the reading out of a document into the language of the listener, can be included in this service. In person interpreting offers the highest service quality among all modes of delivery.

Remote (Video & Phone) Interpreting

Video and telephone interpreting services are convenient, have a lower minimum fee and removes geographical limitations. . Remote assignments can be pre-scheduled like in person services.

English Language (EFL) Instruction

Most English language learners need to take an official exam to measure their English language skills. These English exams are many learners’ key to studying and working in Canada, and even to Canadian citizenship.

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)

is a popular Canadian English language test that is accepted by a number of professional organizations, universities, colleges, and employers across Canada as proof of English language skill. CELPIP is also accepted by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for Canadian citizenship applications. Two versions of the CELPIP test are available – the CELPIP General Test, which assesses Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills and is accepted for permeant residency application. The CELPIP General LS Test, which assesses only Listening and Speaking and is accepted for citizenship .

The Canadian Academic English Language Test (CAEL)

is designed to measure the English language skills of students who wish to study at a Canadian college or university. All CELPIP tests are completely computer-based .

The procedure

As an ESL teacher with years of experience teaching in Canada and abroad I offer preparation courses for those planning on taking the CELPIP/CAEL tests. How do I do that? Here are the steps:
  1.  Evaluating your current language proficiency level
  2.  Planning your course based on your needs and level of English proficiency
  3.  Scheduling our sessions either remotely through Zoom or In person
